Free Guide:
A Different Way to Look at Your Baby’s or Toddler’s Sleep

5 perspectives that help you understand what’s really going on – and something small you can try tonight.

What is this about?

This is a free guide for parents of babies and toddlers who are struggling with sleep. Most sleep advice focuses on what to do – but sleep isn’t just a technique problem. It’s connected to biology, emotions, your own nervous system, the bigger developmental picture, and practical everyday life.

In this guide, Heidi Winkler – pediatric nurse, IBCLC, and sleep consultant with 20+ years of experience – shares five integrated perspectives on your child’s sleep. Each perspective comes with one small, practical thing you can try tonight.

No rigid methods. No fear-mongering.
Just clarity, warmth, and something real to try.

How will this help?

After reading this guide, you’ll have:

A clearer understanding of what’s really going on behind your child’s sleep

Five different perspectives that most sleep advice completely ignores

One small, doable thing you can try tonight for each perspective

A sense that someone finally under- stands the whole picture – not just bedtime or sleeping through the night

About me

I’m Heidi – Austrian-American, pediatric nurse, lactation consultant (IBCLC), and sleep consultant.

For the past eight years, I’ve worked as a maternity nurse and nanny in private households internationally, accompanying families from birth through the early years. Before that, I spent more than a decade in pediatric nursing and family consulting.

Over the years, I’ve cared for babies and young children through countless nights – in hospitals and in family homes – and learned firsthand how intense and exhausting the early months and years can be. I know what 3am feels like: the quiet, the responsibility, the deep tiredness, and the need to stay steady when you still have to function the next day.

I believe that when parents feel supported, informed, and calm, everything shifts. A truly good start shapes not only sleep, but the entire foundation of family life – and that belief is what led me to create The Integrated Sleep program.

No. My approach is accompaniment-based — it’s about understanding your child’s sleep, supporting your own regulation, and finding practical steps that work with your child’s biology, not against it.

“Heidi has made all the difference during my initiation to fatherhood. Every time my wife and I are on the brink of uncertainty, Heidi is the first person we reach out to. She always takes time to listen, reassure us, and provide great options based on her amazing knowledge and lifetime of experience. With all the conflicting information and different approaches out there, it can be very difficult for new parents to untangle it all. Heidi has been exceptional in helping us find the right path in our new family’s journey.”

“Our little one arrived early and we didn’t feel ready to leave hospital without support. That’s when we found Heidi, who turned out to be a godsend. In those first few days at home we were feeling very vulnerable, and her expertise and kindness was just what we needed. It is obvious that she has a deep-rooted love and interest for babies and their upbringing. We felt safe to ask all the stupid questions.”

“My son Laurenz and I came to Heidi for sleep support. He’s sleeping so much better now, and I feel much more relaxed and clear when it comes to sleep. I felt so well looked after. Above all, your incredibly warm and appreciative way really did me good. Thank you for the extra dose of calm you gave me around sleep — and for the warmhearted support.”

“In my first conversation with Heidi, I told her my story and was immediately overwhelmed by my own feelings. And that’s exactly what helped — she gave me back the view of the bigger picture that I had lost. I was stuck in my own hamster wheel and had forgotten to stop and just breathe. Of course children sense when their mother is stressed or overwhelmed, and they mirror it back. The change in my little one was simply wonderful — from daily crying and tears to a smile. Heidi gave me a new perspective that I can use not just with my family, but in many situations in life.”

Sabrina Gruber,

mother of two boys

“Heidi simply managed, with her incredibly positive nature and her broad knowledge, to help our daughter sleep through the night — and nap for 1–2 hours during the day again. We all feel so much better. She also supported us with weaning, which we probably never would have managed so well on our own. We can warmly recommend Heidi to any family.”
